Foilmore Area 07/11/06
Frank Donnelon picked me up at 08:00 hrs at home and we drove to Foilmore church where we met Margaret and Patricia.
We parked our car near the church where the walk would end and drove to the start of the walk with Margaret.
We parked near Coars school and started walking up the hill to Caunoge - not bad. From here we headed uphill to Coomacarrea - an hour of hard climbing. Felt it a lot.
Teermoyle was next. Fifteen minutes. Not bad. We had a cup of tea in this area before starting for Mullaghnarakill - a long bog trot.
Soon after this we took a bearing for a small lake, but missed it. The result - another climb across the spur of Beenhill.
Eventually we saw the Kerry Way ahead of us and were glad when we reached it. We turned left on the track and a half hours walk saw us at the car.
The day was misty - no views, and light rain at times. Nevertheless, a good five hours forty-five minutes of good walking.
