Glenbeigh Horseshoe Area
Patricia leading a walk in the Glenbeigh area on Sunday. During the week prior to the walk there were a lot of phone-calls - people wondering who was going, because a Patricia walk usually has a bad sting in the tail!
Liam Daly, a fellow walker of the same pace, rang to say that he would go if I went, so we decided to participate, along with fifteen others.
Andy called for me on the morning of the walk.
The climb to Mullaghnarakill was steady and the pace not bad. I enjoyed it, along with Andy's company.
We headed along the ridge over Comreagh, and stopped for lunch over Coomasahern Lake, with beautiful views.

After lunch we dropped to the floor of the glen and walked around the head of Coomasahern Lake to begin the climb to Coomacullen Lake.

The pace was now starting to get to me and I slowed down. Andy stayed back to keep me company.
Liam was just ahead and I could see that he was suffering too. Up past the lake and on to Meenteog. Going really slow now and after what seems a lifetime we reach the summit Meenteog. Relief - descent at last!
We go down the spur to Knocknaman. Beautiful views, and taking it slowly. The cars' are in sight. Most of the participants are at them.
I changed clothes slowly - stiff and sore after seven hours of hard going - but the views were worth the effort.
After a day or two I was fine again.
